Happy Big Day Birthday Card

I have a really fun card to share with you today.  I recently  added some new goodies to my stash, and was anxious to get into them!

Really Reasonable Ribbon offers a ribbon club subscription that sends you an assortment of ribbon every month.   I have a weakness for ribbon, so I love it!   You can check it out here if you like.  I also added this fun Tape It stamp set from Stampin’ Up.  I decided to put them together.

I made a card base from Smokey Slate cardstock and a white card front.

I stamped all the stamps randomly using  Smokey Slate, Basic Gray, and Daffodil Delight inks.

I stamped the sentiment using Stampin’ Up’s Chalk Talk stamp set, and used the matching dies to cut it.

I was going for a more masculine look, so I embellished simply with ribbon and Candi dots.  I adhered the sentiment with dimensionals.

I love the way it came out!  The colors are great!

Strawberry Cobbler

The hubby and I first had strawberry cobbler years ago at one of our favorite restaurants in Texas, The Blackeyed Pea.  If it was on the dessert menu when we were there, you better believe that we were ordering it!  With vanilla ice cream on top, of course!   I’ve never been able to replicate it exactly, but this recipe comes close.   Hubs recently had a birthday and asked me to make it for him.   Continue reading

Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie with Easy Chocolate Buttercream

My son had a birthday recently and decided he wanted a cookie cake to celebrate.  I found this recipe in Martha Stewart Living in July 2002 and have been making it ever since.  It is so easy and delicious!   Continue reading

White Chocolate Pretzel and M&M Cookies

I follow several cooking and baking blogs faithfully.  One of my favorites is Sally’s Baking Addiction.  When I saw  her recipe for White Chocolate Covered Pretzel Cookies,  I knew I just had to try them!  I altered the recipe very sightly to include some festive white chocolate M&Ms for Easter.    Continue reading
